I'm a Financial Adviser and the person behind Price-Milne Financial Services. I help New Zealanders protect what matters and make sense of insurance and KiwiSaver, in plain English, with no pressure.
I love listening to people
I used to ride around in the back of ambulances and police cars, filming television shows. It taught me a lesson that has stuck with me: everybody is worth listening to.
After a short stint as an investment adviser, I brought those interests together into what I do now, which is helping people solve problems. For me, insurance is about protection; protecting yourself and protecting the people you love. No two people are the same, with the same backgrounds, worries or luck, so I listen first to really understand someone's situation, then use what I know to fit a solution to it.
My goal is always to explain complex ideas in the most straightforward way possible. Outside of work, I create photorealistic pencil drawings and enjoy recreating interesting recipes I find online.
Making financial advice make sense
In New Zealand, insurance and personal finance can feel daunting. Very little of it is taught in classrooms, so a lot of people go through life with a "she'll be right" approach to money. I started Price-Milne Financial Services to help change that, by empowering individuals and families through education and personalised advice.
Understanding your options is not just a nice-to-have; it is what lets you make informed decisions with confidence. So I break complex concepts down into plain language, tailor advice to each person's situation, and try to leave people feeling more in control of their financial wellbeing than when we started.
